Grammy Awards 2025 - Chappell wins Best New Artist!

A night of glamour, performance and excitement, celebrating an incredible year of music. We were all VERY excited for the 2025 Grammy Awards and they certainly did not disappoint.

Many of us sat for hours eagerly hoping to catch a glimpse of Chappell on the red carpet and in the audience, excitedly awaiting her live performance. Her red-carpet look gave feather couture with a 2003 Gautier dress and headpiece, styled her long time collaborator Genesis Webb. Another outfit change for her time in the audience consisted of powder blue bodice and pleats, followed by further outfit changes for her live performance and finally the remainder of the show.

We then had to wait for her live performance, anticipating which hit song she would perform - whether a fan-favourite or a new release - and what her performance theme of the evening would be. She of course did not disappoint (does she ever!) and gave a floor-filling performance of Pink Pony Club, featuring a larger-than-life pink cartoon pony and backup troupe of dancing cowboy clowns.

We loved the new choreography (will synchronised dancing be a new performance era for Chappell?), but also loved the classic Pink Pony Club performance features like the singalong with the booming crowd and the slow stage crawl towards Andrea during the guitar solo.

The performance went down a treat with audiences at home and in-person alike, and even had Janelle Monáe and Alicia Keys sings and dancing along.

Not long after her stunning performance it was time for the announcement of Best New Artist; a strong category this year, with nominees including Benson Boone, Doechii and RAYE.

"Selected by the 13,000 members of the Recording Academy, the winner is......Chappell Roan!!!". The camera panned to a beaming Chappell and following a big hug from Dan and Misha, she headed to the stage, Princess gown and veiled hennin in tow.

Chappell read her speech from her familiar journal, and made an empassioned call to the giants in the music industry to properly support developing artists, particularly with regards paying them a liveable wage and providing cover for health insurance. The speech was met with cheers (and some tears) from many celebrities in the crowd, and again highlighted how Chappell Roan is prepared to use her platform to be a voice for change.
